The fifth installment to one of my favorite fantasy/fairytale series, A Crystal of Time was certainly not a disappointment or waste of time in waiting for its release. I had it pre-ordered weeks early and it arrived the day it came out to my immense excitement. The action picks up right where it left off in Chainani's fifth novel, and without giving away too much, continues the conflict between the Snake turned king and Tedros' exile. Making its way through different dimensions and preconceptions of what is actually good versus bad, I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting some of my favorite literary characters and joining them on their spellbinding adventures. Chainani is certainly a master storyteller and world builder, seeming to one up himself with each new novel. And, I can assure those who are wondering... there will be a sixth installment. There's literally no way that there won't be one eventually! Maybe I should have tried to read it a little slower because now I have at least a year to wait to read what happens next... All of that being said, I highly recommend this book -- of course, read the preceding books first if you haven't already done so!
